Outpost Security receives 9th consecutive VB100 award

Outpost 7.5 beats out 40 of 44 security products in latest Performance tests

St. Petersburg, Russia — November 9, 2011. Agnitum, developer of highly-rated PC security solutions since 1999, is pleased to announce that Outpost Security Suite Pro, the company’s flagship Internet security product, has received its ninth VB100 award in a row, demonstrating continuing reliability in threat detection and prevention.

VB100 October 2011The latest Outpost Security Suite Pro, Version 7.5 — Performance Edition, participated in the tests under Windows 2003 Server R2 in October 2011. The anti-malware engine’s strong protection capabilities in version 7.5 enabled Outpost to pass the tests with no false positives, one of the major requirements for VB100 certification.
In total, 44 anti-virus and security suite products were tested against a clean set of 500,000 files totaling around 140GB, against worms and bots set of around 30,000 samples each, and a trojans set containing over 150,000 unique files.

Along with its 100% detection of malware and polymorphic viruses, Outpost was complimented for its functional interface that gives appropriate levels of control to users and its optimized subsequent scan performance, powered by the latest generation of SmartScan technology. Outpost’s scanning speed on a repeated scan for archives, binaries and system files was faster than 40 of the 44 competing products.

Agnitum’s Internet security suite also demonstrated lower CPU usage compared with other Windows Server 2003 compatible products, including those from Avast, AVG, Comodo (both Antivirus and Internet Security products), F-Secure, G Data, GFI (VIPRE), Quick Heal, and Sophos.
