I think I have a virus on my computer. What steps should I follow to install AVG?

First, check your computer with the vcleaner.exe utility. This utility is able to clean/remove most known of viruses that are known to cause installation problems. It is not necessary to install this utility, just save it on your PC and run it.
You should check your computer this way:
  • Download the vcleaner.exe utility from the Virus Removal section.
  • Reboot your computer into the Safe mode (if necessary).
  • Double-click on the downloaded Vcleaner utility to launch it.
  • Please wait until the scan finishes and restart your computer.
After checking your computer with vcleaner.exe, you can begin installing the AVG program. We recommend you to install AVG as described in FAQ 1995. When the installation is complete, please update your AVG, to be sure that the latest virus definitions are in place.
