Agnitum’s Outpost Pro outperforms 15+ security products

Gains "Recommended" award in Matousec.com Proactive Security Challenge tests

St. Petersburg, Russia — March 22, 2012. Agnitum, a leading developer of PC security products since 1999, is pleased to announce that Outpost Pro version 7.5.2 (Performance Edition) outperformed more than 15 of the most widely used security products to gain a "Recommended" award from independent testing organization Matousec.com. The 64-bitWindows 7 Proactive Security Challenge tests, using the organization’s Security Software Testing Suite (SSTS), measure security software’s ability to resist the tricks used by malware to spoof antivirus and firewall protection. The Matousec.com team (www.matousec.com) is acknowledged to be the leading authority in this field today.

Matousec 95/110Through its combination of security and performance with low resource consumption, Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.5.2 (Performance Edition) was able to achieve a score of 86%, completing 95 out of 110 tests. The average score among the other participants, which included some of the best known names in information security, was only 16%.
Among the products overshadowed by Agnitum, included two products rated as "Very poor" — ZoneAlarm and ESET’s suites, and 14 "Not recommended" suites — AVG, Avira, Avast!, BitDefender, Dr. Web, F-Secure, GData, McAfee, Norman, Norton, Panda, PC Tools, Rising, Trend Micro and Trustport.

"Outpost’s performance in the tests was great." — says David Matousek, the project’s founder.
Commenting on the results, Konstantin Kutikov, Agnitum’s Head of Testing Department, says: "We are proud to continue our successful challenge to the latest threats. The 64-bit systems market is growing, and Outpost Security Suite Pro addresses a wide range of sophisticated malware. This is true even under 64-bit Windows 7, where security software rights are limited compared to 32-bit OS. Outpost Pro 7.5 is still for a top choice for preventive blocking of unknown threats."
